Kendrick Lamar supo darle trascendencia a la nueva canción grabada junto a Big Sean y Jay Electronica titulada “Control”. Pero la importancia obtenida fue negativa, ya que no pertenecerá al álbum “Hall Of Fame” debido a los malos comentarios que recibió poco después de mostrarse. En el corte, Lamar rapea sin ninguna modestia refiriéndose a otros raperos con poco respeto y autonombrandose “rey de New York”.
En respuesta a su polémico verso, Kendrick recibio gran cantidad de twitts desmeritando su palabreo. El grupo de inconformes acogió tanto a personas naturales como también a artistas, entre los que podemos destacar al puertorriqueño Joell Ortiz quien sin dudrar respondio con un freestyle: “little homie you ain’t the king of New York, you’re the next thing on my fork” entre otras rimas.
